On the mend and looking dandy. Fidel Castro speaks about Fidel Castro.

Fidel Castro's eldest son, also named Fidel Castro, has given the rah-rah thumbs up regarding his old man's health. He even goes so far as to predict that his father will make a full recovery. See what smoking premium cigars and remaining loyally committed to communist ideals will do for you?

This latest report is much more upbeat than the ambiguous, shhhhh-hush-hush-now-wink-wink reports back in late December as well as the "oh, my dear, comrade -- is looking very bad indeed" gloom and doom of teary-eyed Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez from just three weeks ago.

Castro, who is 80, has been ill of health since last summer after undergoing an intestinal operation. There's been speculation that he has a condition known as diverticulitis, a six-syllable hydra meaning a weakening of the walls of the colon.

Revolutionaries and workers of the world, rejoice! The old communist war horse will soon be back in his saddle; and it may be many a moon before he rides off into the horizon and to the workers' paradise that awaits us all.
