Latin American Women's Month

What do Eva Perón and Anne Bonny have in common? Very little, apart from their both being of the same sex. Nevertheless, they are the first two women to be featured.

This must, I suspect, be Latin American Women's month if for no other reason than the appearance, thus far, of not one but two articles featuring prominent women from this part of the world.

The first article highlights the uplifting life and career of Eva Perón, while the second, on Anne Bonny, is the latest in our continuing series on noteworthy pirates. Like all pirates of that yesteryear pirate age, Anne Bonny was ruthless and merciless. She was also able to successfully stake a claim to fame despite being a woman in a pirate man's world. In fact, it was so much of a man's world that she found it a necessity to disguise herself as a man at first.
